Obituary for Murwin D. Dolan

(Age 84)
Murwin D. Dolan passed away November 25, 2018 at Windriver Place in Spokane, WA. Murph was born on August 29, 1934 in Bismark, ND to Edward Thomas and Martha Imelda Nunn. He was born the youngest of seven brothers, with the exception of Al Ruddy who he met later in life and called him brother. Murph attended Central Valley High School where he met one of his best friends, Don Frye. He met his wife, Peggy McDowell, at the Fox Theater. They had three kids, Pat, Susie and Paul. He had three grandchildren, Pat gave him Paul; Susie had Sean; and Paul had Megan. When Murph’s son, Pat, passed away, Murph and his grandson, Paul, developed an unbreakable bond. Sean had great-grandson, Marshall Grey. Murph really enjoyed his time with the grandkids. He enjoyed fishing and baseball and loved golf. He lived in Spokane Valley for over 50 years and worked at Columbia Lighting during that time. He retired from there as the factory manager. During retirement, he and Peggy enjoyed traveling to warm places. After 52 years of marriage, Peggy passed away. He met Carole Watt and started phase two of life, adding to our family her beautiful children and grandchildren. Carole and Murph enjoyed many years together traveling, golfing and enjoying their children. Murph is survived by numerous relatives and many, many friends. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 9th from 2pm to 5pm at the Spokane Valley Eagles, 16801 E. Sprague Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99037. Memorial contributions in Murph’s name may be made to Hospice of Spokane, 102 W. Rhoades Ave., Spokane, WA 99208.
