Alma M. Turnidge Obituary (Age 91) Passed quietly in her sleep on December 15, 2009. She was born in Alberta, Canada on April 12, 1918 to Otto and Gudrun Swanson. She married James C. Turnidge on December 23, 1937 and they would have celebrated their 72nd anniversary next week. She is preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Trudy (John) McCoy, Spokane, WA and Alice Daily, Corona, CA; and five grandchildren, Mark (Donna) Tufts, Dallas, TX, Jim (Melissa) Tufts, Spokane, WA, Pamela McMillen, Kirkland, WA, Amy (Caesar) Rubic, Corona, CA and Jacob Daily, S. Pasadena, CA. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She and her family resided in Spokane and Long Lake since July 1960. Alma worked in retail sales for many years. Jim and she also owned and operated a family restaurant and owned many rental properties in the Spokane area. Her greatest love in life was for her husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alma was a long time member of the National Democratic Committee. The family wishes to express grateful appreciation to Willow Grove Assisted Living with special appreciation to the loving care givers. We are also grateful to the Horizon Hospice staff. Private family funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Horizon Hospice or Union Gospel Mission.
