Aristides "Art" Thopoulos Obituary Aristides ?Art? Thopoulos, age 99, passed away at his home of 58 years in Spokane on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. He was born in Nemea, Greece on December 25, 1913. Art served in the Greek Army during WWII. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1955. During his life in Spokane, Art owned and operated the Paris Shoe Shop and was a cantor for the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, a service he began in Greece. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 66 years, Stamatia, in 2006. Art is survived by his daughters Maria Thopoulos and Dimitra Beigh, two grandsons, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews in Greece. A trisagion will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1703 N Washington St, Spokane, WA. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the American Red Cross, Inland Northwest Chapter, 315 W Nora Ave, Spokane, WA 99205-4743.
