Peter passed away on Sunday, January 23rd at St. Joseph?s Care Center. Born in San Francisco December 31, 1947 to Raymond and Catherine Christiansen, Peter attended Spokane Community College and was a graduate of Eastern Washington University. He later attended the University of California at Berkeley where he pursued graduate studies in higher mathematics. He interrupted his studies to pursue his interests in religious disciplines and became deeply involved in bible study and lay ministry. He volunteered his service in the Spokane area, particularly at Eastern Hospital. He was an avid chess player and participated with the Spokane Club chess activities on the Gonzaga campus. He continued to pursue a degree in mathematics intermittently while battling numerous physical challenges. Peter was a very special person who endeared himself to all who knew him. He was kind and gentle with a penchant for sharing his deep religious convictions as well as his spontaneous wit. He is preceded in death by his father Raymond and his younger brother Edward. Peter is survived by his mother Catherine ?Katie? Adams of Spokane and his sister Carole Marie Christiansen as well as seven cousins. Peter will be inurned with his brother Edward in Riverside Memorial Park. Donations in Peter?s name can be made to Holy Family Foundation.
