Charles R. Simpson, Sr. Obituary (Age 76) Charles passed away on March 26, 2016 in Spokane, WA. He was born on June 29, 1939 in Hugo, OK to Bernard Simpson and Fannie Cravatt. Charles lived his younger days in Oklahoma with his grandmother. He attended Haskell after completing high school and then went on to work for the U.S. Forest Service. While he was working for the Forest Service in Orofino, ID, he visited Pullman, WA and decided he might like to live there. After returning to Oklahoma for a bit, he decided to make that move. He got a job working for WSU as a Maintenance Mechanic. He worked in that position for 27 years and retired from that job. He also resided in Albion, WA and Palouse, WA in his many years in the area. In 1978 he married Cynthia Dedmon and they had a daughter and a son together. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with family and his dogs. He is survived by his children Sarah Jusselin and Charles R. Simpson Jr; four grandchildren; a brother and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, mother, father, two brothers, and a child from a previous marriage.
