Claude T. Russell Obituary (Age 92) Claude was born in Garden Valley, ID on February 20, 1921 to George and Mary Alice Russell. He passed away on October 16, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth (Decker) Russell, the love of his life. Claude was the youngest of nine children, all of whom preceded him in death. In his younger years, he worked in the logging industry. He served four and a half years in the Air Force during World War II and was called up again during the Korean War. He loved airplanes and after his Air Force service, Claude worked for Boeing in the Seattle area. Later he moved to Spokane where he worked as a civil service employee for Fairchild Air Force Base, retiring in 1983. Claude married Ruth in 1960. They purchased a lovely home in the Brownes Addition of Spokane where they lived for 47 years. They moved to Fairwood Assisted Living in 2011. A special thank you to all of the employees of Fairwood as well as Horizon Hospice for their kind and loving care for Claude before his passing. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224, followed by a military honors graveside service at Riverside Memorial Park.
