Dalvina I. Meader Obituary (Age 96) Dalvina was born March 5, 1914 in Flaxville, MT to Amada and Corrine French. She passed away in Spokane Valley on January 8, 2011. After high school graduation, Dalvina moved to Spokane to attend Kinman Business University. After graduation in 1932, she worked in Spokane as a bookkeeper until moving to Los Angeles in 1938 where she was married in 1939. She and her family moved to the Midwest in the late 1940s, living in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Fort Dodge, IA. She returned to Spokane in the late 1950s where she remained for the rest of her life. During her years in the Midwest and after her return to Spokane, Dalvina worked as needed in various accounting and office administration positions. She retired from Ames IGA in Spokane as office manager in 1977. Dalvina was a devoted mother and grandmother, and a devout Roman Catholic. She loved to travel, and was an avid bridge player, winning several tournaments. Dalvina is survived by her children: Gary (Sue) Meader and Carole (Max) Reinland; four brothers and sisters, along with eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, and one great-grandchild. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 15 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 501 N. Walnut Rd., Spokane Valley, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the St. John Vianney Poverty fund.
