David J. Thomson

March 29, 1940 - November 24, 2009

David J. Thomson Obituary (Age 69) Longtime Spokane resident went to be with the Lord on November 24, 2009, after a long courageous battle with MS and later with cancer. Dave was born on March 29, 1940 in Spokane, Washington to Malcolm and Mona Thomson. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1958. Upon graduation Dave began a career at JC Penney in downtown Spokane. In 1960 he met his wife Betty M. Eller who also worked at JC Penney and they married in 1961. Dave was transferred to the JC Penney store in Great Falls, Montana, where they lived for two years. He was then transferred to the Spokane Valley store and retired after twenty years of service as the In Store Marketing Manager. In 1975 after Expo 74, Dave and Betty opened the World of Things gift and d?cor store in the Flour Mill, near Riverfront Park. Dave was a very talented artist who used his creativity to make many beautiful things and will continue now to do that for eternity. Dave is survived by his wife Betty of 48 years at the home; two daughters Tami Hodge, husband James of Mt. Vernon, WA, Sheri Fraine, husband Rodger of Portland, OR; four grandchildren Chrystie Fraine, Anthony and Dylan Hodge and Shannon Williams. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Lincoln Heights Community Church, 3527 E. 29th Ave, Spokane, WA.
