Delbert Ray Pratt Obituary (Age 84) Delbert Ray Pratt passed away on June 30, 2016 in Spokane, WA. Delbert was born on a tobacco farm in Eadsville, KY on April 18, 1932 to Homer and Dorothy Pratt. When he was six years old, the family moved to Anderson, IN and when he was eight years old they moved again, to Indianapolis, IN. Delbert attended Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, where he completed his GED. He met Eleanor Alma Hale on a blind date and they were married seven months later on July 3, 1952 in Omaha, NE; Sunday, July 3, 2016 marked their 64th wedding anniversary. Delbert served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a Tech Sergeant on October 1, 1969 in Denver, CO. He was stationed in several locations, including: Omaha & Council Bluffs, NE; Wiesbaden, Germany; Las Vegas, NV; Fargo, ND and Bermuda. He received orders to Da Nang, Vietnam but they were rescinded on account of Delbert?s brother, Willie, passing away in WWII. After retirement from the Air Force, he stayed in Denver where he graduated from Emily Griffith with a certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. He worked for 17 years as a maintenance engineer for various hospitals. As a third career, Delbert worked as a property manager for Elie Pratt Real Estate Corporation; they rented and sold four rental properties. Delbert?s hobbies included woodworking, property renovation, maintenance and management, and traveling. He was a member of Harvey Park Christian Church. Delbert is survived by his wife, Eleanor A. Pratt of Spokane, WA; sons, Randall W. Pratt of Denver, CO, Gregory R. Pratt of Winston-Salem, NC and Gary Pratt of Spokane, WA; granddaughters, Nyssa M. Strom, Robyn S. Strom and Kirstyn L. Pratt, all of Colorado. He is preceded in death by his brother, Willie Lee Pratt; sisters, Zerah Ellen Doyle, Cora Marie Robinson and Vera Sublet. A memorial service for Delbert will be held on Friday, July 8th at 10am at the Harvey Park Christian Church 3401 S. Lowell Blvd. Denver, CO 80236. There will be a private family service for his inurnment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Harvey Park Christian Church.
