Dennis Patrick Flaherty Obituary (Age 72) Entered into rest March 18, 2013. He was born April 12, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the eldest child of five children of Wilfrid and Gertrude Flaherty. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years Lynn (Gillett) Flaherty and a sister Kathleen Keating. He married Lynn in December of 1967 and she passed March 11, 2008. Dennis is survived by his sisters Barbara Flaherty, Terri Flaherty and Melinda (Flaherty) Johnson; nieces and nephews. Dennis is a graduate of both Gonzaga Prep and Gonzaga University, had avid sports interests and a participant in tennis and basketball in his youth. He served in the US Coast Guard reserves. He enjoyed tropical climates, was a faithful Catholic and member of Mary Queen Parish, enjoyed dinners with friends, good red wines and loved his animals. He retired from Bayer, previously Hollister-Stier. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Dennis? home parish, Mary Queen, 3423 E. Carlisle at 11AM Wednesday March 27, 2013, Rev. Paul Vevik, Pastor will preside. Memorial donations can be made to Spokane Humane Society. Private inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
