Einer F. Jensen

Einer F. Jensen Obituary (Age 78) Passed away June 13, 2012 at his home in the Spokane Valley. He was born August 3, 1933 to Jens and Amanda Jensen. He was the youngest of 9 children born to parents that had immigrated from Denmark and settled near Norma, ND. He was raised on a sugar beet farm, Einer developed a strong work ethic. At age 17 he joined the Navy during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan and San Diego. Einer left the Navy after 4 years and soon after married Ila Mae Krueger October 2, 1954 in Sidney, MT. He studied accounting in college, eventually becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and received a Masters in Taxation at Gonzaga University. He plied his accounting background at Washington Trust Bank and after a career that spanned nearly four decades he retired in 1998 as a Vice President in the Trust Department. During this time he touched the lives of countless families in the Inland Northwest setting up trusts and managing affairs of probate. Never far from his roots in farming he raised 2 sons, Ritchie and Ronald on a small farm in Spokane Valley. Growing up the sons helped raise sheep, cattle and horses. For a short time Einer raced a couple of horses at an Idaho racetrack. Einer was preceded in death by his son Ronald and 7 of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Ila, son Ritchie of Richland, WA and sister Anna Elletson of Billings, MT. Einer will be sorely missed. Visitation will be Monday 8AM-5PM and Tuesday, June 19th 8AM-1PM at Heritage, followed by a Graveside Service at 3PM at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 8304 E. Buckeye, Spokane 99212.
