Geraldine McDonald

December 10, 1915 - March 31, 2009

Geraldine McDonald Obituary Our loving mother left on the wings of an angel to meet the open arms of Jesus and her family on March 31, 2009. Gerry was born December 10, 1915 in Spokane to John and Iva Tracy and was a lifetime resident. She graduated from Marycliff High School and went on to complete Kinman Business School. She married William McDonald on June 19, 1935 and from that marriage there were eleven children. Mom was an amazingly strong woman and yet soft hearted and unselfish in her devotion to her family. She loved everyone unconditionally, made everyone feel important, comfortable and welcome and put her family ahead of herself. Not only an amazing piano player but also the worlds best cook, having raised eleven children. She liked to call the kids in for supper with a sharp whistle using her fingers. Perhaps this is why she was so fabulous at crocheting and embroidering. Her most fond memories were the time spent on the farm north of Sacheen Lake. Preceded in death by her husband William, sons Owen and Steven McDonald and daughters Mary Schumacher and Teresa Schmitt.Gerry is survived by her daughters Dolores Orlin, Pat (Larry) Campbell, Katie (Al) Clarke, and Barb (Doug) Orchard; sons Will (Melba), Dennis and Tom McDonald; two brothers; five of her eight sisters; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be at Heritage Chapel 1:00PM Tuesday, April 7, 2009 followed by a committal service at Holy Cross Cemetery chapel at 2:30PM, Fr. Joe Bell officiating. We will love and miss you mom, you will never leave our hearts.
