(Age 95)
Went home to his Lord on March 6, 2010. He was born to Lowell and Mary Jane Hoover Wickline on January 22, 1915 in Bisbee, North Dakota. Harold was one of five children when the family settled in Wenatchee, WA in 1920 where he attended Wenatchee High School. Harold joined the U.S. Army in 1934 serving in the Hawaiian Islands and then in Auckland, New Zealand for the following four years in the U.S. Navy. He returned stateside to work for Bonneville Power Administration as a line equipment operator. In 1947 he met and married Neva Short in Wenatchee, WA. After living in several northwest cities he and his wife settled in Spokane to raise their three daughters. In his early years, Harold enjoyed motorcycles and fast cars. In later years, he loved fishing, dancing, lapidary projects, Eastern Star as Past Patron and Scottish Rite. He and Neva loved traveling throughout the U.S. visiting distant relatives. Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife, Neva. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Jane (Bill) Marvin, Leilani (Dr. Don) Ellingsen and Gina (Bill) Elston. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, Dr. Don (Dr. Tammy) Ellingsen, Dr. Richard (Dr. Michelle) Ellingsen, Mark (Sally) Ellingsen, Dr. Lisa (David Van Hersett) Ellingsen, Paul Elston, Lani (Andy) Marshall and Mark Elston. He was also extremely delighted with his great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Carly, Derek, Travis, Jessica, Riley, Bailey Ellingsen and Jack and Cole Van Hersett. The family would like to thank the staff at the Spokane Veterans Home for their outstanding care and compassion while Harold lived there. Entombment will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 12 p.m. with a reception following at Heritage Funeral Home.
