Irene Delvechio Obituary
(Age 91) Irene was born on April 5, 1919 in Bayview, ID. She was the second in a family of eight children. Irene was taken into the Lord's loving arms on September 1, 2010 in Spokane, where she lived most of her life. She attended J.J. Browne grade school and Lewis and Clark High School. Irene was married to Leo Delvechio for 55 years until his death. She was a homemaker at their home on West Princeton Ave. where she and Leo enjoyed planting and harvesting from their garden and fruit trees. She loved canning everything from pickled beets to bread and butter pickles. Irene also loved to camp each year at Marshall Lake with her family and friends. In her later years, Irene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo, card games and going to rummage sales. Irene is survived by her two daughters Barbara Delvechio and her friend Ray, and Deborah Crook and her husband Bill, all of Spokane; Grandchildren Lori Olsen, James Maus, Tony Maus, Scott McSpadden, Shane McSpadden, Chad McSpadden, Damon McSpadden, and Lindsay Buckholtz; 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister Margie Shaw of Newport, WA, brother Robert Anderson of Spokane and many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Leo and infant son, Richard; sisters Marcella Boehme, Lois Reeder, Velvagay Barranco, Joanne Phillips and brother William Anderson all of Spokane. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 12:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial services will be held September 13, 2010 at 1:00PM at Riverside Memorial Park.
