James Patrick Prevost Obituary (Age 95) Born January 15, 1921 in Great Falls, Montana to James P. Prevost and Ada C. Prevost. He began his early years with the family on the Prevost Cattle Ranch located between Geyser and Raynesford, Montana. As a young boy, he also worked at the family Livery Stable in Geyser with his dad and uncles. As a young man, his family moved to Scotia and later to Spokane. He attended and graduated from John R. Rogers High School. His summer months were spent working on the ranch and saving all his money so that his mother could buy a house in Spokane. In 1940 he went to work for Western Electric Company in Spokane. November 22, 1943, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served in the European Theatre as a Radio Mechanic working on the bombers. His military records show that he served in Southern and Northern France, Central Europe, Rhineland, Po-Valley, Rome-Arno and Air Combat Balkans. After WWII, he returned to Spokane and Western Electric Company. He married Betty Jean Unger in April of 1946. They lived in Yakima and raised four daughters. In 1955 they returned to Spokane. As a Central Office Installer, he spent a lot of time traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, Chicago and New York. In 1963 he was promoted to an Engineering Associate and once again relocated the family to San Jose, California. In 1967 he brought the family back to Spokane. After 43 years with Western Electric, he retired as the #3 most senior installer in the United States. He was a dedicated company man and family man. Through the years many men would approach Dad and shake his hand for living with five females and no boys in the family. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a sister and uncles. He is survived by a sister Margaret Prevost; four daughters; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Visitation will be Thursday Noon-5PM at Heritage and a Funeral Service 2:00PM Friday, July 8, 2016 at Heritage Chapel.
