Larry Alden Powers Obituary (Age 85) Passed away on December 8, 2009. He was born July 18, 1924 in Fairfield, WA to Jacob and Grace Powers. He spent most of his life in Spokane. Larry married Dorothy Altman January 9, 1948. Larry and his brother, Jay, owned and operated a sheet metal shop in the Spokane Valley for many years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Fishing and golf were two favorite pastimes. Larry belonged to various Masonic bodies and took an active part in their activities. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons Jack of Spokane and Mark (Virginia) of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter Janet Powers of Bellevue, WA; six grandchildren; one great-grandson. Also surviving are his brother Jay and his sister Joan Inkpen. A memorial service will be held at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline, Spokane, WA at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009.
