Lola May Thompson

Lola May Thompson Obituary Beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend entered into rest peacefully after a wonderful life on July 8th, 2009. She was born in Spokane on May 12, 1927 and was the only daughter of Danna Delmont Crooks, Sr., and Carrie Maude Eliot. Lola was a life-long homemaker and devoted mother. Nothing was more important than her family. She enjoyed life and with her wonderful personality and goodness she gathered friends wherever she went. Among the many cherished friends she leaves behind are: Chuck and Shirley Arnold, Mac and Gladys McLaughlin, Jerry and Janet Peters, Merriel Johnson and cousin/friend Jo Giguere. Lola was preceded in death by her parents, her oldest brother Danna D. Crooks, Jr. and youngest brother Lester G. Crooks. Her life was saddened by the early losses of her son Douglas Allen Thompson, daughter Gerry Lee Cooper and granddaughter Beth Ann Williams. Lola is survived by and will be forever loved and remembered by her husband of 63 years Allen L. Thompson. Their companionship, devotion and mutual care-giving were an inspiration to everyone. She is also survived by two daughters and their husbands, Pam and Mel Nebelsieck and Jan and Dick Vander Weil, all of Spokane; cherished grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey Nebelsieck, Chief Petty Officer Mark Cromer, Shelley Lee, Carrie Jackson, Bradley Williams and Jonathan Cooper, and nine beautiful great-grandchildren. Also surviving is brother and sister-in-law, John H. (Jack) and Rose Crooks of Las Vegas, Nevada, and sisters-in-law and great friends Gerry Rhodes and Helen Crooks. A memorial service to be held Monday, July 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
