September 15, 1927 - September 08, 2015

Mary Nadine Sadler Obituary (Age 87) Mary was born on September 15, 1927, to Ben and Anna Pederson in Dallas, Wisconsin, the ninth of twelve children. During the Depression, Ben and Anna moved the family to Walker Mine, CA, and from there moved to Chico, CA. After high school, Mary met William (Bill) Bruce Sadler; they married on January 22, 1949. After the first few years of marriage, they settled in Chico, CA, where they had three daughters: Jane Susanne, Gail Leigh, and Cynthia Ann. While their daughters were young, the family moved four times in California, Oregon, and Washington, ending up in Spokane, where their daughters eventually married. In 1976 Mary and Bill moved away from Spokane to Portland, OR, but as retirement was reached and with grandchildren in Spokane, they moved back to Spokane to be closer to family. Mary was creative and loved to sew and design craft projects. She enjoyed people and liked to entertain; family was very important to her. Mary was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 64 years, Bill, in June 2013, and by her eldest daughter, Jane, in July of 2015. Mary is survived by one sister, Betty Freeman of Santa Rosa, CA, and by her daughters, Gail Haxton (Jim) in Spokane and Cindy Grieb (Scott) in Crystal Lake, IL. In addition, Mary is survived by eight grandchildren: Brent Michelsen, Bryan Michelsen, and Emily Haxton, all of Spokane, Brad Michelsen of Priest River, ID, Meghann (Haxton) Wittstock of Seattle, WA, and Katie Norris, Heather Fox, and Ben Grieb of Crystal Lake, IL. Mary also had sixteen great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 12th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Spokane would be greatly appreciated. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Mary, please visit our Tree Store. Read more Events SEP 8
