Richard Allen "Dick" Flowers Obituary (Age 78) Passed away July 8, 2012. He was born April 23, 1934 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Frank A. and Laurella Flowers. Dick was raised on a farm outside Ft. Wayne, IN in a small town of Churubusco. He graduated from high school with honors and attended Perdue University. He applied and was accepted to the Cadet program in the US Air Force, where he stayed for 20 years. He excelled as a bomber Navigator, Intelligence Officer and a Tanker Navigator. During that time he served a one year tour in Vietnam and as a Tanker Navigator flew many missions in the early 70s. He was and will continue to be an active member of Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, once in body now in spirit. He enjoyed singing in the choir and Tuesday morning Men's breakfast, where he often prepared breakfast. He enjoyed music where he played the harmonica and his passion the banjo. His hobbies were numerous, but particularly photography, listening to music, working with his hands and camping with his friends. He leaves behind a devoted wife of 55 years Anita M. Flowers; three sons Scott (wife "Young"), Craig and Randy; his daughter Kelli (husband Bill); his sister Marcia Cuff; his brother Tom Flowers; many cousins, nephews and nieces. He also was devoted to his grandchildren Minkyun (wife Sungah), Chihye, Aaron and Lindsey. He was preceded in death by his father Frank A. Flowers (1962), Mother Laurella Flowers (1991). Memorial Service 3:00PM, Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline, Spokane 99203 with Inurnment at 11:15AM Friday July 20th at Washington Veteran's Cemetery, Medical Lake, WA. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane or Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church.
