Richard "Dick" Henry Heitman Obituary (Age 81) Passed away April 16, 2010 in Spokane, WA. He was born December 12, 1928 in Council Bluffs, IA to Henry Earnest and Olive Julia Henrietta (Spetman) Heitman. He married Carleta Meyer Oct. 23, 1949 in Council Bluffs. He was a farmer southeast of Council Bluffs before heading west with his family in 1953. He began his career as a Greyhound Bus driver in Phoenix, AZ in 1958 and completed his 28 year career in Fresno, CA. Dick enjoyed his retirement years first in Kimberly City, MO and then in Spokane, WA. His hobbies were woodworking, gardening and reading books on US history. He was everyones "handyman", always helping family, friends and neighbors. He will be missed dearly by his loving wife of 60 years, Carleta and everyone who was blessed to know him. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. He is survived by his wife; loving daughters: Susan (Frank) Kirk of Clovis, CA, Cynthia (Brian) Fiut of Spokane, Barbara (Michael) Logelin of Las Vegas, NV and Elizabeth (Moses) Martinez of Clovis, CA; siblings Alice Brown of Council Bluffs, IA, Phyllis Higgins of Earlham, IA and Trudy Smith of Brookfield, MO; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral Service 1:00PM Tuesday April 20, 2010 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 4320 S. Conklin St. Spokane 99203. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church or Hospice House of Spokane.
