Richard F. Oatney Obituary (Age 91) Died Thurday, Jan 3, 2013. He leaves his wife, Bernadine Oatney; and daughters, Sheri Freeland and Debra Fleury; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Born and raised in Spokane. Richard, wife and daughters lived for many years in San Francisco, but moved back to Spokane for the family connections. Richard went to Rogers High School, then went into the Navy. He worked for Arden Farms Distributors, Spokane School District 81 and Silver Auto Auction. Richard had many different apartment buildings on the South Side over the years that he maintained. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a solid influence with high values, deeply religious, and an excellent provider for his wife and daughters. An avid RV traveler, he loved to pack up and travel throughout the United States. He and his wife also travelled more extensively throughout Asia, Mexico and the Caribbean. He was a devoted Deacon in the Seventh Day Adventist church for many years. He was always first and foremost a family man. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 2pm at the South Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiated by Pastor Paul Blake.
