Roberta J. Campbell Obituary (Age 88) Roberta was born in Portland, OR on July 29, 1922 to Chester V. Nutting and Lillian Schultz. She passed away on September 19, 2010 in Spokane. She graduated from North Central High School in 1947 and on May 20, 1963 she married Jack Campbell in Kootenai County. He was a long time Spokane musician and together they taught music in their home and studio. In the early '80s Roberta talked to news crews at Gonzaga University on the subject of collecting vinyl records. After Jack passed away in 1985, Roberta continued to teach music in the studio above their record shop. She also enjoyed astrology and has collected books and software all her life. Roberta was a continuous member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW No. 51 since 1985. She is survived by her son Gary Halleson of Hawaii, granddaughter Ruth Ann Steven and her two sons of Vancouver, WA, grandson Kevin Johnson of Otis Orchards, nephew Larry Cox of Gladstone, OR, his two children and six grandchildren, and niece Jerre Ellis of Spokane and family. Roberta is preceded in death by her husband Jack Campbell and son Dale Gropp. A Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park on Saturday, October 2 at 2:30 PM.
