Ronald H. "Ron" Burke

Ronald H. "Ron" Burke Obituary (Age 73) Passed away December 21, 2012. He was born May 14, 1939 in Spokane to Howard M. and Thea (Headstrom) Burke. He graduated in 1957 from Rogers High School, attended WSU and transferred to Gonzaga University where he studied mechanical engineering and played basketball. He married G. Marie Russell in 1958 and they have been married for 54 years. Ron worked for L&S Engineering since 1967, was made an associate in 1987 and retired in 2009. He coached girls softball for 10 years and was the ASA Junior Olympic Commissioner from 1986-2012. He also played rec-league basketball for most of his adult life. Ron is survived by his wife Marie Burke; four children Kathleen (Cass) Lehinger, Lori Stinson, Doug Burke and Sherri (Allen) Byrd; seven grandchildren, Karissa, Jessica, Brianne, Kara, Dallas, Garrett and Colby; two great-grandchildren Margeaux and Braden. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday, 10-5PM at Heritage and Funeral Service 1:00PM Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Heritage Chapel.
