Ruth A. Stangler Obituary Ruth A. Stangler entered eternal rest on July 15, 2009. Ruth was born on October 8, 1920 in Miles City, MT to Emma and Cornelius McCown. On June 18, 1938 she married Frank R. Stangler. In 1939 they packed all of their belongings in their Model T Ford and drove to Conrad, MT where their seven children were born and raised. Ruth and Frank celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1988 with family and friends. Frank died in 1996. Ruth moved to Spokane in 2000 where she lived with her daughter Dorothy until her death. Ruth is survived by all seven of her children; Sharon, Dorothy, Judy (Jim) Christiaens, Mary Jo (Gary) McGowan, Linda (Dan) Elliott, Bob (Paula) Stangler, and Kay (Tom) Philipps. She was the beloved grandmother to Douglas (Valerie) Christiaens, Jacqueline (Matthew) Austin, Jamala Hayes, Glenna (Sean) Patten, Linda (Chris deceased)Warner, Ivy (Shane) Nicholson, Austin Elliott, Lindan (Amy) Elliott, Tammy Redmond, Sydney Philipps, and Lauren Philipps. Her twenty beautiful great-grandchildren were the joys of her life. Ruth's niece Patricia and her husband Jerry Dickers live in Spokane. She enjoyed and appreciated their company very much. Ruth's funeral mass will be on July 24th at St. Michael's Church in Conrad, MT at 11:00AM followed by a luncheon and remembering in the Parish Hall.
