Velma Adele Kim Birch Obituary (Age 93) Passed away March 29, 2012 while visiting her new great-granddaughter in Salt Lake after a short illness. Up until her death, Velma had a very active and full life. She was born February 7, 1919 in Sandy, Utah to Kim Siegfried and Amelia Ericksen Kim. Velma and her twin sister, Venice Perkins were older sisters and survive Ruth Reynolds, Elaine Storrs and Chet Kim. After graduating the University of Utah, Velma married Rondo Obray Birch in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on June 4, 1942. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2006. They had three children, Nancy Elvere Birch who preceded her parents in death on February 28, 1987; Susan Annette Kelly (Gary) and Byon Kim Birch (Diane); grandson Todd William Kelly (Jenifer) and two beautiful great-granddaughters Averi and Ashton Kelly. Velma was a long-time resident of Spokane. She was a school teacher for many years and loved working with the children. She was very active in the LDS church all her life and leaves behind many beloved friends. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be at Heritage 10-5PM Wednesday and a Funeral Service 11AM Thursday April 5, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2112 W. Francis Ave. with visitation l hour before.
