VERNA LEOTA FRANCIS KRAKENBERG aka PAULINE CHRISTIAN died at age 86 in her home in Spokane, WA January 27, 2010 at 9:16 pm. Verna lived her life with such grace and compassion of "PURE LOVE". Born October 19, 1923 to Joseph and Letitia Christian, was adopted by Joseph and Lillian Francis at birth, grew up in Spokane then moved to Seattle, WA and graduated from Highline H.S. in 1941. Married in 1942, has five children: Max J. (Patti), Dennis K. (Johanna), Kathy E. McCollough (Theron), Nancy J. K. Flanary, and Thomas Neils (Susan). She is also survived by birth sister; Joann Safford (Fred), birth brother; Don Christian, Patti Christian, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Verna won awards as a top salesperson in Tupperware and as a Realtor. She loved people and opened her home up to many to live with her, saying "There is always room for ten more!" She gave from her heart every moment of every day. She was one who lived in the moment - it truly is a present. She volunteered in many organizations throughout her life: Habitat for Humanities, Rape Crisis Clinic Operator, a teacher at Unity Church of Truth in the nursery for 15 years, to name a few. Her wisdom and grace left a lasting impact on us all and will be greatly missed. Her last words: "I love you all! I love you all! I love you all!" Verna donated her time, talent, and treasures to those in need in every area of life. In lieu of flowers please give to the charity you so choose in honor of Verna. A Memorial will be held at Unity Church of Truth, Sunday, February 28th at 2:00 pm, 29th and Bernard, followed by a celebration of Verna's life held at the Church. Verna's Inurnment will be held Saturday, February 27th at 3:00pm at Riverside Memorial Park - Rose Garden.
