A. Jack Bishop Obituary A loving husband, dad, granddad, and great-granddad passed away on Saturday. He was the son of Beryl & Glen Bishop. Jack was born in Sydney, Ohio, and grew up in Miles City, MT. He graduated from Custer County HS in 1939. Jack's first job was in the Pharmacy in Miles City until enlisting in the US Army Air Corps in 1940, he was a WWII Vet having served in the South Pacific war zone. He graduated with a degree in Pharmacy at Idaho State University, was a Phi Sigma Kappa President, Past Alumni President, and #1 Bengal Fan! He then worked at his uncle's drug store where he met his beloved Eve who he married in 1949. Jack began a new career with Merck and Co. as a Pharmaceutical Rep. moving to Spokane in 1955 & retiring after 35 years. Jack was known for his clever wit and one-liner jokes. He loved people and treasured his many friendships. He was very active and deeply passionate in all that he did. He was loyal to all the many activities he joined some of which included; a true Scot he was a proud founding member of the Spokane Scottish Society, a drummer in the Angus Scot Pipe Band, Past Master of Masonic Lodge #272, an active member of Audubon Park United Methodist Church. He spent many years boating with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, he skied, was an avid golfer, he volunteered for the Spokane Food Bank & Visitors Bureau. He enjoyed travel, and later became a master of Wii bowling. Jack loved his family with all his heart and they loved him! He is survived by the love of his life, wife Eve, 3 daughters, Jackie (Stan) Wackerli, Jackson, WY, grandsons Landon & Lucas Wackerli, & great-grandson Braxon, Boise, ID, Holly Bishop (Randy Myhre) Spokane, Bonnie Reid, Bend, OR and granddaughters Marnie and Tanna Reid, all of who will miss him beyond words. Jack's family would especially like to express their appreciation to his friends and the staff at Riverview Terrace and Care Center, Hospice, and Dr. Bruce Dentler. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Jack's memory to Audubon Park United Methodist Memorial Fund. A time of visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 9am to 5pm. A funeral service will be held at Audubon Park United Methodist, 3908 N Driscoll Blvd, on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 12:30pm.
