(Age 89)
Grandpa was born on November 25, 1923 in Payette, ID to Arthur and Mabel
Ackaret. He passed away on January 26, 2013 in Spokane. He was married to
Virginia Kauren on August 4, 1950. After 56 years of marriage Grandma
preceded Grandpa in death in August of 2006. Grandpa spent 80+ years in
Spokane, working 21 years at the paper mill in Millwood, WA and retired from
Holz fuel in Hillyard, WA. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and rodeos with his
grandkids. Grandpa is survived by four sons Roger, Wes, Wayne, and Gilbert;
daughter and son-in-law Cecelia and David Schmaltz; grandchildren Jenni and
Jason Spear, Jeff and Sarah Schmaltz, and Paul and Brynne Schmaltz;
great-grandchildren Aubrey, Hannah, Trey, Becca and Evan all of Spokane.
Grandpa was preceded in death by his five younger brothers Bob, Harold,
Clifford, Raymond and Leroy, and is survived by three sisters-in-law Henrietta
and Bev Ackaret of Spokane and Eloise of Seattle. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013
at 2:00 pm at St. Patrick's Parish 5021 N Nelson St Spokane, WA 99217.
