Alba Stamm Obituary
(Age 88) Alba passed away at Rockwood South Hill on March 3, 2015. She was born on August 25, 1926 in Stamford, CT. Alba was the youngest of five girls born to Italian immigrants Vito Bochicchio and Guiditta Summa. Alba graduated from Stamford High School in 1944 and married Orval Stamm of Elm Creek, NE on October 9, 1948. She lived in Stamford until 1983 when she and her husband retired and moved to Sun City West, AZ. Alba worked as an office manager for the American Cancer Society area office in Stamford and retired from Omega Engineering as the secretary for the Corporate President. She was a world traveler and outstanding cook. Alba was extremely proud of her two sons, one a doctor and one a lawyer. In Sun City West she served on the volunteer sheriff posse and was also a volunteer coordinator for the fire department. Alba was active in the bocce club and was a member of the Church of the Advent Episcopal Church. She spent her final years in Spokane as a resident of the Rockwood South Hill community in the Alzheimer's unit. Alba was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Orval Stamm and her four older sisters. She is survived by her son David and his wife Nancy of Valrico, FL, and her son Bryan and his wife Jean Petro of Spokane. A Memorial Service will be held at Rockwood South Hill at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
