Alda Lucille Morris Obituary (Age 70) Passed away of natural causes on September 17, 2013 at HCR Manor Care in Spokane, Washington. She was born on May 27, 1943 in Missoula, Montana and grew up in Spokane. Alda graduated from Central Valley High School in 1961 and attended Washington State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She taught special education. Alda enjoyed continuing her education through books and was an avid Scrabble player. She was known for knitting hundreds of beautiful children?s sweaters for donation. Alda was preceded in death by her parents Stanley Richard Morris and (Ruby) Lucille Morris and her brother Steven Richard Morris. She is survived by her son John Morris of Anchorage, Alaska, brother Roger Morris (Diane), sister Sally Rowlett (Steve), nephews Daniel Morris, Christopher Morris, and Michael Rowlett, and niece Katie Rowlett. Her son John was adopted and raised by Roger and Diane. A simple family service was held at graveside at Highland Cemetery in Colville, Washington on September 22, 2013. Alda desired to be buried next to her beloved grandmother, Alda Belle Morris. Alda was a gentle spirit who carried a debilitating illness throughout her adult life with grace and dignity. Her comforts were her family, her friends, her bible, and prayer. The suffering of others moved her and she found joy in using her talents and resources to give. Her death was sudden and unexpected and we have lost a sweet light in our lives.
