Alethia "Granny" Rosell Obituary Alethia, age 84, passed away in Spokane, WA on December 16, 2010. She was born on June 13, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA to Howard and Clara (Stewart) Thompson; one of three children, a sister Margaret (Thompson) Monaco, and brother William Thompson. She was married in 1941 and had six children. Alethia is survived by her children Edwin (Irene) Rosell, William Rosell, Margaret (Doug) Kupsik, Jacqueline Habekost, Linda Rosell, and Howard (Debbie) Rosell. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was raised in Pennsylvania, moved to New Jersey, New York, California, and finally Washington State in 1988, where she resided for the rest of her life. Alethia enjoyed crafts, gardening, reading, playing bingo, caring for her precious baby dolls, and running the Colbert store, which she purchased in 2003. Of all the various jobs throughout her life, she enjoyed running the Colbert Store the most because of all the people she met while doing so. Alethia liked being referred to as Granny by everyone, which is what she is most lovingly known by. A time of visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from noon until 5 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Sunset Chapel in Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 1 pm.
