Alice Leona Lockhert Obituary (Age 100) Alice passed away on April 21, 2011 in Spokane, WA. She was born on February 12, 1911 in Elk, Washington to Samuel & Goldie Mace. Alice spent her childhood and adult life in Elk, Deer Park, Chattaroy and Spokane. She also spent time in Canada. On October 15, 1932 she married James W. Lockhert in Opportunity, Washington. In the 1980?s Alice and her husband lived in Lewiston, Idaho helping their son with the family auction business for 10 years. Alice enjoyed painting, sketching, writing poems and gardening. She also cherished visits with her family and friends. She was an avid painter and very artistic, winning various awards during the many years she participated and volunteered in the area fairs. She was also accomplished at working crossword puzzles, often doing them in ink. Alice was a member of the Central Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed her church family and participating with their projects. Her family was able to enjoy a wonderful 100th birthday party celebrating her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim on December 13, 1994 and her sister Mildred Nickerson and brother Frank Mace. Alice is survived by her son Robert E.(Paula); grandsons David L (Carrie) and Dale A. (Amy) Lockhert and granddaughter Susan L (Doug) Clark; great-grandchildren Lindsay Skinner, Tyler Clark, Erin Lockhert, Devan Lockhert, Blake Gustafson, Daniel Lockhert, Jennifer Lockhert, Jacqueline Lockhert, Luke Lockhert and Zoe Lockhert and great-great-granddaughter Sydney Skinner. A private family memorial will take place at a later time.
