Allen D. Rose Obituary
(Age 76) Allen was born June 19, 1940 in Richland Center, WI to William and Hazel Rose. He lost his battle with cancer and died January 4, 2017. He graduated from Beloit High School in Beloit, WI in 1959 and enlisted in the US Air Force that same year. He served 33 years in the Air Force with military assignments all over the world until he retired in 1992 as a Chief Master Sergeant. He then went to work for Spokane International Airport and Felts Field as their Maintenance Manager until finally retiring for good in 2006.
He married Beverly A. Stine on September 16, 1961 in Richland Center, WI and they had three children. Allen loved to be outdoors, to work in the yard and garden or just putz around. He was a hunter and fisherman. He always looked forward to the annual fall salmon fishing trip with his kids. He was passionate about books and especially any with his favorite subject, history. He was also a member of Westerners History club.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverly; two daughters, Pamela and her husband Kurtis Cogswell, Elizabeth and her husband John Burkholder; one son, Gregory Rose and his wife Kristine; two brothers, Jean Rose and Norman Rose; one sister, Sharon Dresler; eight grandchildren, Michael Burkholder, Melissa Dubois, Nicholas Cogswell, Brittney, Mikayla, Brandon, Riley, and Lindsey Rose; seven great-grandchildren, and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Rose and sister, Myra Smith.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 1 pm at Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
