(Age 76)
Known by many, loved by all. Anita entered into rest at home on August 31, 2011. She has reunited with all her loved ones in Heaven! Anita was born July 18, 1935 in Mikana, Wisconsin, the fifth child of eight to William and Nina Harms "Van Der Hyde". She moved to Spokane in 1945 with her mother and siblings. Attending West Valley High School, she was offered a scholarship to Holy Names Academy to further her artistic abilities. Instead, she married Harold Noel "Garry" Lundquist on Oct. 11, 1952. They celebrated Fifty years until his passing in 2002. She began and raised her family while going on to become a well known Northwest landscape artist. Her oil and acrylic canvases hang in many private galleries and homes in almost every state and most Canadian provinces. She won many awards for her work and was a member of numerous Art Associations. She traveled extensively with her husband and fellow artists to hundreds of shows throughout the Northwest until retiring in 1987. She continued her art for pleasure for many more years. Anita loved sharing her time with family and friends, whom she loved unconditionally with all her heart! She also enjoyed music, reading, plants and animals. She greatly valued her Spiritual Enlightenment and Bible studies. She is survived by her brothers, sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, children Lynn Remsing (Rick), Garri Lundquist (John), Garry Lundquist, Aaron Lundquist, grandchildren Kammi (Tom), Chantel, Andrea, Casey (Bree), Robbie, Cory, Tasey, and Jacob, and great-grandchildren Rylynn and Kade.
