Anne Betow Obituary Anne Marie Gertrude Louise (Van Poucke) Betow, the woman with the steel will, died on May 28, 2018 after a lengthy and valiant battle with cancer. She is survived by husband Mike Betow, daughter Christine Seerveld, and three fabulous grandchildren. Born in Zottegem, Belgium in the midst of the German occupation, Anne beat the odds and fought the system to find success in business and create a life of adventure. After many years of solo international travels Anne chased love across the ocean to make a home in Spokane. Here she immersed herself in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and frequently left town to travel the world with her husband and daughter. With her striking intellectual curiosity Anne led an active and engaged life, fully immersing herself in her many activities: gardening, hiking, museums, reading, and French Club. She lived to the end, engaging herself in the world around her and doting on her grandchildren. There is no doubt that Anne lived her life her own way. She will be missed. Anne?s memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, June 1st at Heritage Funeral Home.
