Anthony Alan McDermott

Anthony Alan McDermott passed away peacefully in his sleep, on April 20, 2025, as a result of complications related to diabetes and kidney failure. Anthony was born in Spokane, Washington on June 19, 1958, in Sacred Heart Hospital, the sixth of nine children, to Frances and Rodney McDermott.  

Although Anthony contended with several medical situations throughout his life, including contracting spinal meningitis as an infant, he lived a very full and happy life.  Anthony worked various jobs but he particularly enjoyed and was very well regarded as a restaurant cook.  He enjoyed many outdoor sports and activities with fishing and huckleberry-picking being at the top of his list.  Anthony was married in 1980 to Carrie Lynne Tombari.  They had four children, Anthony Jr., Justin, Christina and Daniel McDermott.  

Anthony is preceded in death by his mother and father, Frances and Rodney McDermott, his brother, Sidney McDermott, and his sister, Patricia Lindsay.   He is survived by his four children, his brothers, Clinton Belyea, James McDermott and Timothy McDermott and three sisters, Judy Stroyan, Mary Kataoka and Ethel (Sandy) Smith.  He is also survived by six grandchildren, many nephews and nieces.

The funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16th at the Journey Church, 4224 E. 4th Ave, Spokane, WA 99202 beginning with a period of visitation at 9am, followed by a funeral service at 10, and a 2:30 graveside service at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
