Arlene E. Straub Obituary (Age 77) Arlene went home to be with her Heavenly Father on June 13, 2011. She was born on May 5, 1934 to John and Valborg Christenson and raised in Spokane. She graduated from West Valley High School in 1952 and married Clayton Straub on June 7, 1953. Arlene worked for Pacific Northwest Bell in several different capacities for 25 years, retiring in 1989 due to failing eyesight. She enjoyed traveling and before losing her sight had the wonderful opportunity to visit such places as Israel, the Panama Canal, Alaska and Hawaii. Arlene was a member of Valley Fourth Memorial Church and volunteered in the church library and office. Despite her handicap and illness she always had a smile for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed. Arlene is survived by her husband of 58 years Clayton, Spokane; daughters Denise (Steven) Nead, Spokane and Janice (Darrell) Danielson, Milton Freewater, OR.
