Arnold Peter Van Dyk Obituary (Age 85) Arnold Peter Van Dyk was born July 1, 1925 to Rev. and Mrs. Peter Van Dyk in South Holland, IL. He married Elsiena Nieboer June 8, 1950 and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They moved to Spokane in 1950. He was a WWII veteran serving with the 397th Armored Field Artillery Bn, 16th Armored Division, obtained a degree from Kinman Business University, taught at Kinman and retired from a career as a Certified Public Accountant. He was instrumental in starting Calvin Christian Reformed Church (New Hope Church). He is survived by his beloved wife Elsie; daughters Marilyn (Darrel) Rupnow, Barbara (Michael) Cournia, and Patricia (Michael) Benedict as well as 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, two sisters and grandchildren Michelle and Christopher Benedict. He will be greatly missed and remembered as a man that loved the Lord Jesus, loved his family and had a terrific sense of humor. A visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on July 25, 2010 from 12:00PM to 5:00PM. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 2:00PM at First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. Counrty Homes Blvd., Spokane, WA. An interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
