September 6, 1937 – June 12, 2025

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. -Joshua 1:8

Arsen was born on September 6, 1937 in western Ukraine to a hard-working family of Nadiya and Lukash Yarmoshik. His parents owned a small farm where Arsen grew up and helped with the upkeep of the household and the farm animals since a very early age. Arsen was third out of 6 children. He received basic education and as soon as he could he started working, taking on jobs that were not easy. Eventually he moved to Donbas and worked in coal mining for the next 22 years.

In August of 1965 Arsen married Nadia and together they raised 8 children. In 1977 the family moved to Kiev where he worked at various jobs as a carpenter, plumber and a mechanic. He would eagerly take on projects to help people with building, fixing and remodeling. His carpentry skills were exceptional and were valued and appreciated by many. In 1996 Arsen moved to the United States where he continued to work, looked for opportunities to help others and was active part of Christian communities.

In his twenties Arsen became Baptist Christian and Jesus was his Guiding Star for the rest of his life. The Bible was always by his side, and he knew most of it by heart, as he has read it from cover-to-cover over 50 times. His faith in God was witness in his readiness to help others and constant prayers especially in the last few years of his life. Arsen passed away quickly and peacefully in the early morning of June 12, 2025, with his family by his side. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbyes to our loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, caring brother and husband, and a friend who was always ready to help.
