Barbara Ann Wood

January 05, 1942 - February 10, 2018

Barbara Ann Wood Obituary Barbara Ann Wood was born January 5, 1942 to Katherine and James Bricker at Sacred Heart Hospital. She passed away on February 10, 2018 peacefully in her home in Portland, OR. She is survived by her husband, Cecil Wood; brother, Jim Bricker; son, Rick (Sheryl) Johnson; daughter, Christie (Vernon) Bumsted; grandchildren, Alex and Megan, Michelle, Chelsie and Ashley; and great-grandchild, Madison. Barb was raised in Spokane, WA, spending her childhood with her brother, Jim and cousins, Al and Rae. In between being shot in the back with a BB gun, being knocked out cold from a thrown rock to the head and being left for dead as werewolf food, Barb just barely survived childhood to raise two children (Rick and Christie) in her childhood home on Spokanes South Hill. On September 5, 1987 Barb married the love of her life, Cecil Wood, in Spokane and shortly after moved to Portland, OR where she became the best damn real estate agent Georgetown Realty has ever seen. Together Cecil and Barb had one child, Spud the dachshund. Barb was passionate about gardening, painting, golf, playing pool, and searching for seashells, rocks and treasures. She volunteered a lot of her time to Habitat for Humanity, enriching the lives of those around her. Barbs true love of life and people are qualities that she handed down to her children and grandchildren. Barb is a wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who is loved deeply. We will never forget her beauty, tenacity, charm, wit, grace (a majority of the time!) and her undying love and care for her family and friends. We love you, Barbara!
