Barbara Anne (Nate) (Gross) (Pearson) Barnes Obituary Barbara was born on April 28, 1923 in Montpelier, Idaho to George Talmage and Hortense Ellen Wallantine Nate. She was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. At 21 she married Capt. Orien Wilford Gross Jr. of Spokane, Washington. The two had four daughters: Kelly Anne Godon, Sierra Madre, CA, Debra Lynn Enstad, Minnesota, Barbara Anne (spouse Leonard in memoriam) Stern, Spokane, and Merri Ellin (spouse Don) Huff, St. Louis, MO. Barbara was blessed with ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, ages one to eleven. The family resided in many Air Force bases, including Okinawa, Great Falls, MT, Mount Tamalpais, CA, Tonapah, NV, Sacramento, CA and Cape Cod, MA. Maj. Gross passed at age 38 of cancer. Barbara remarried to Maj. Wesley Dale Pearson in 1963. Shortly after, he was transferred to Fairchild Air Force Base where he eventually retired in Spokane, WA to raise the four girls. They enjoyed many years together golfing as members of the Manito Country Club. Lt. Col. Dale Pearson (ret.) passed in 1990 of cancer. Barbara later remarried Lt. Col. Barnes (Ret.), deceased. The couple enjoyed snow birding in their winter home in Sun City, AZ. Barbara had a great sense of humor which served her well in her three marriages, all to fly boys. She lived out her senior years at Touchmark Retirement Community where she was loved by all she knew there for her sweet disposition and sense of humor. She will be very missed by her family. Barbara will join Dale Pearson at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.
