October 17, 1948 - June 16, 2010

Barbara Barton Obituary (Age 61) Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at her home in Suncrest, WA. She was born on October 17, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Edward and Anna Bedell. Barbara grew up in Long Island, NY and married her husband of 41 years, Barry Barton, in 1969. She experienced an amazing life with Barry, traveling and living all over the world. They settled down in Suncrest 17 years ago. Barbara passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, after battling an 8 year fight with ovarian cancer. Barbara was an amazingly strong woman with a passion for life, love, and family. She always put others before herself, and taught us all how to live. She showed us how to be a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Barbara showed courage and grace beyond what anyone could anticipate or expect. She never complained despite her years of discomfort and despair with cancer. She "lived", regardless of her cancer and she expected the best of everyone around her. She left a legacy of love, compassion, and family that will live on forever within our hearts. Thank you! Barbara is survived by her husband, Barry Barton; sibling, Marilyn Saether; children, Beth and Brian Barton; daughter-in-law, Jessica Barton; her amazing grandchildren, Brittany and Bailey Barton, and Ryan and Matthew Pennell; as well as her wonderful nieces Mary Ann, Laura, Amanda, Katie, Sydney, Lauryn, and Emily. Visitation will be Friday, June 25 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM followed by a Rosary at 6:30 at Heritage. You are invited to join Barbara's family for a celebration of her life at 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 26th, 2010 at Heritage Chapel. A graveside service at Riverside Memorial Park will immediately follow.
