Barbara Jean (Collins) Rosenberry

Barbara Jean (Collins) Rosenberry Obituary (Age 83) Passed away December 1, 2010. She was born February 14, 1927 in Spirit Lake, ID to Fred C. and Margaret J. Collins. She moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1934, graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1944, attended the University of Idaho and was affiliated with Pi Beta Phi sorority and a member of the University of Idaho Vandaleers singing group. Barbara's love for singing continued, singing for injured troops sent back home from the war and in local USO shows. She was a member of the St. Lukes Episcopal Church in C'da where she was the choir director and soloist. She worked at Joels Inc in Spokane for over 25 years. She volunteered for the Spokane Symphony, and worked on numerous committees to retain the history of the lumber industry in the local Spokane and Northern Idaho areas. Barbara was a former board member and sustaining member of the Junior League of Spokane and Inland Empire Girl Scout Council. She was past President of the St. George's School Mothers Guild, Secretary and Board Member of the Allied Arts of Spokane, Chairman of the American Red Cross School Health Aid Program, the Eastern Residential Chairman for the United Way and a sustainging member of the Rebekah Lodge #16 in C'da, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert G. Rosenberry in 1991 and a son Robert G. Rosenberry Jr in 1977. She is survived by sons Richard C. Rosenberry (Alison Voinot) of Seattle, WA and Thomas D. Rosenberry of Spokane; daughter Anne M. Rosenberry Gasper (Dick Gasper) of Bayview, ID; grandchildren Thomas Rosenberry Jr and Timothy Rosenberry and great grandchild Renee C. Rosenberry. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Hospice of Spokane, Spokane Humane Society or the Museum of North Idaho in Coeur d'Alene, ID. A family gathering to be held in the spring will be announced at a later date.
