Barbara (Wolfe) Plewman Obituary
Barbara passed away peacefully with her oldest son by her side on the early morning of May 22nd. She was born in San Francisco, CA and later moved to Spokane, WA as a young girl where she went on to graduate from North Central High School. She married her childhood sweetheart, Dale Plewman, and had three sons. While raising their children, she attended classes to earn her Registered Nursing Degree from Spokane Community College. After graduating from college, she went on to enjoy a successful career at Sacred Heart Hospital where she worked in the day surgery unit for more than twenty years.
In her retirement, she and Dale spent their winters in Yuma, AZ where she led exercise classes, participated in clogging and craft making, was a member of the Red Hats Society, and enjoyed the sunshine. Barbara loved gardening, crafts, sewing, nature and the outdoors, camping, traveling, her pet dogs, and especially the Christmas holiday.
She has left a legacy of being a loving wife, mother, and friend. She worked selflessly to raise her children, devoted herself to her career, and filled her home and garden with love and special attention. Barbara treasured the times she and her husband shared with their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed hosting family dinners, Christmas gatherings, and annual family reunions for many years. Family was her life. She looked forward to any opportunity she had to be with them and she valued those times they shared together.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dale R. Plewman; their three sons, Steve (Kelly) of Spokane, Keith (Tammy) of Tri-Cities and Mark (Shannon) of Nine Mile; her five grandchildren, Alice Pittack, Devon Plewman, Taylor Martin, Briana Plewman and Ryan Plewman; and her sister, Dolly Gerstenberger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Margaret Wolfe, and her brother, David Wolfe.
Barbara will be in our hearts forever. Family and friends will always remember her infectious smile that would light up a room and her love of socializing and being with her family. We will treasure all the times we shared with her. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Touchmark and Pine Ridge for the care they provided her while she was with them.
Barbaras Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00AM at Heritage Funeral Home.
