Barry Irwin Gilbert, 74, of Hayden, ID passed away in Coeur d’Alene, ID on November 28th, 2025.  Barry was born to George and Evelyn (Pollack) Gilbert in New York, NY on October 04, 1951.

After graduating high school in 1969, he moved cross-country with his family to Culver City, CA. Thereafter, he worked for the State of California Franchise Tax Board for over 30 years and became a CPA. After retiring from the state, he went into private practice for the remainder of his career, retiring in 2023.

In 1976, he married Sherri Isaac, and they had one son, Hayden. 

Barry was a loving and compassionate man who enjoyed nothing more than his family.  He was fun and friendly and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.  Barry enjoyed watching hockey and baseball, fishing, shopping, and spending time with his family.    

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 49 years, Sherri Gilbert; his son Hayden Gilbert; daughter-in-law, Ashley Gilbert; and two beautiful grandchildren, Lizzie and Bennett.

A funeral service will be held at Sunset Chapel in Fairmount Memorial Park on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025, 12PM. A catered reception will follow at 1pm with a short gravesite blessing at 2pm.  Please join the family in honoring Barry’s life and legacy.

Oh how I will miss my cousin. His energy and attitude were so uplifting. Loved his smile, his laugh, and his cute nicknames and jokes. What a bright light his earthly life was. He will be so greatly missed and forever deeply loved.
