Beatrice O. Foster Obituary
Beatrice Foster went to our Lord on August 11, 2012. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, "Andy" Foster, in 2007, and their oldest son, Gerald Foster of Alaska in 2004, as well as her adoptive parents George and Mary McCoy. She was also preceded in death by her biological father Walter Hansen. Bea was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy; particularly the children, most of whom she taught to swim over the years at their lake retreats. In her younger years Bea was a beautician by profession and had her own shop in Portland, OR, where she met and married the love of her life Andy. She also had an in-home shop later in Spokane, where the family moved in 1948. She also worked at John Rogers High School in the 1950's in food service and subsequently for the Pasadena School District until retirement. Bea was a member of Crossover Church in Colbert, WA. She was on the church prayer chain and was also a prayer warrior for prisoners (including furnishing bibles). She was a strong pro-life advocate; great love for the little ones and vise-versa. She and Andy lived most of their most of their retirement years in the country near Chattaroy, WA, close to many of their loved ones. Their door was always open to their friends and family. She was most happy cooking and baking for the people who crossed their threshold. Because of deteriorating health she spent the last 22 months living with her daughter Patti and son-in-law Don. Bea is survived by her son Tom Foster (Mary Ann); daughters: Patti Workman and her husband Don, and Marjorie Dawson and her husband John; as well as 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Bea loved her family, church, and friends, but was looking forward to worshiping our Lord "in Heaven" and being reunited with Andy and Gerald (Jerry). She died of cancer and for the family; her passing leaves a huge void that cannot be filled. She and Andy will forever be in our hearts. The family extends our thanks and appreciation for all of the prayers, calls, cards, flowers, food, and loving support that have been received during Bea's illness. The Memorial Service will be held at Crossover Church, 16825 N. Newport Highway, Mead, WA 99021, on Wednesday August 15th at 10:30AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Pro Life organizations, Paralyzed Veterans, or the Union Gospel Mission.
