Benjamin "Ben" G. Luding

Benjamin "Ben" G. Luding Obituary (Age 87) Went home to the Lord on Wednesday morning, taken with a heart attack and 7 years of Alzheimers. He was born Jan. 28, 1923 in Hillyard where he attended Regal School and graduated from Rogers High School in 1941. He became an apprentice at the Great Northern Railroad. When Uncle Sam called him he chose the Naval Air Force and continued his electrician training. After 38 months of service WWII ended and he came home to a job at the railroad. He met Eileen Paulson and they married Nov 29, 1946. In 1964 he went to work for Kaiser Mead until retirement in 1985. He was active in his church, PeeWee baseball, Cub Scout master, Foresters, bowling, electrical union, camping and Cop Shop until he was unable to do so for the last 7 years. He still played pinochle, solitaire, make cuttings from magazines for scrap books and attended Providence Day Care for 2 1/2 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and Timothy Luding. Ben is survived by his wife of 63 1/2 years Eileen; son Terry Luding, sister Louise Absalonson, grandsons Corey and Timothy Luding, granddaughter Sarah, great-granddaughter Kylee Lyons, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, brothers-in-law Norman and Kenneth Paulson, sister-in-law Vonnie Kreider. Viewing will be Tuesday July 13, 2010, 12-1 followed by Funeral Service at 1:00PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 4620 N. Regal St. followed by a reception and Graveside Service 4:00PM at Fairmount Memorial Park. Donations may be made to St. Peter Lutheran or Alzheimer, Inland Northwest Chapter-Spokane.
