Bernice Ann Crawford Obituary (Age 91) Bernice Ann Crawford passed away on August 24, 2014 at the age of 91 in Spokane, WA. Bernice, known to most as Bea, was born in Stockton, CA on August 18, 1923 to Sam and Cora Kampschmidt. Bea grew up in Stockton with her two younger brothers, Samuel Jr. and Carl Kampschmidt. She attended Stockton High School and graduated from the University of California in 1945 with a degree in psychology. She married her husband, Kenneth C. Crawford, in 1948 and began a life together that would last 63 years. They had two children, Suzanne and Kenny. Bea attended the College of Pacific where she earned her teaching credentials. She taught the third and fourth grades before moving to Spokane in 1963. She was active in several clubs, including the AAUW and Phi Sigma Alpha. She worked at Lamonts for 15 years and also participated in numerous fashion shows before retiring in 1985. Bea?s favorite pastimes included reading, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known as ?Nano? to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to read and helping them with school work. Bernice is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Brosseau (Greg), her son, Kenneth J. Crawford (Heidi), her grandchildren, Brooke Smith, Matt Brosseau, Kellie Crawford, Nick Brosseau, and Jace Crawford. Her great grandchildren, Zachary Erickson, Colton Smith and Carter Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. Crawford and brothers, Sam and Carl Kampschmidt. Bernice was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. A family memorial will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park.
