Bettie "Burbie" Johnsen Obituary (Age 87) Was born June 14, 1922, and passed away April 24, 2010. She graduated from N.C. High School and attended the University of Idaho where she became a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She was a charter member of the Valley Women of Rotary. She was a 50 year member of Daughters of the Nile, including 30 years in the Nile Patrol. Her husband of 51 years, Dr. Dale B. Johnsen preceded her in death in 1998. Survivors include daughters Debbie Hopkins, Jennifer Ellersick (Gary), and Cindy Casey. Five grandchildren Lt. Col. Michael McCullough (Jennifer), Hillary Atkins (Brian), Daniel Ellersick (Amber), Todd Ellersick and Kurtis Casey. Seven Great-Grandchildren Mason, Connor, Avery, Colden, Brindley, judith and Jett. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 28th at 4:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home, Spokane, WA. Donations may be made to Shriners Hospital or Hospice House of Spokane.
