Betty Joyce (Mead, Nordhagen) Dalzell Obituary (Age 83) Entered into Glory, March 26, 2010. She was born in Spokane to Chauncey and Annie Mead on June 12, 1926. She was a loving and kind mother and grandmother. Betty is survived by her children Terry Nordhagen, Lonnie (Brenda) Nordhagen, Robert Nordhagen, Suzanne (Ron) Torvik, Craig(Cecilia) Dalzell and Tracy Dusmoor; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; late husband of 27 years Hillis Dalzell; brother Jerry Mead; son Garry Nordhagen and grandson Jeffrey Nordhagen. She worked as a hairdresser for many years, then sold real estate and worked for SAFCO Ins. before retiring. She spoke often of her high school days at Rogers and roller skating at Cook's Rink. Her passion was friendship and living a full life. Her interests centered around the nearness of people - involvement in the Eagle's Auxiliary Drill Team, Wandermere and Liberty Lake Women's Golf Clubs, weekly card games,volunteering at the Valley Senior Center and as a member of Opportunity Christian Church. She also loved to travel and entertain. Grandchildren will remember her competitive spirit and laughter around a "friendly" game at family gatherings. The family would like to thank Betty Frost for the love, friendship and care she gave our mother, she was such a blessing at this difficult time. The Lord opened his arms wide to receive you Betty Joyce, your walk with God in Heaven has begun. We know we will see you again but will miss you until that time. A Celebration of Her Life will be held 3:00PM Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Opportunity Christian Church, 708 N. Pines Rd. Spokane Valley. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Hospice of Spokane or Opportunity Christian Church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family.
